A&P/IA Lead Mechanic
The A&P / IA Lead Mechanic is responsible for overseeing aircraft maintenance operations to ensure the safety, airworthiness, and regulatory compliance of our flight training fleet. This role is critical to maintaining high operational standards, minimizing aircraft downtime, and supporting safe, reliable flight training for students and instructors. The Lead Mechanic works closely with flight operations, scheduling, and management to plan maintenance efficiently while mentoring junior mechanics and ensuring all maintenance activities meet FAA regulations and manufacturer requirements.
Qualifications
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate required
- FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) required
- Minimum of 3–10 years of hands-on aircraft maintenance experience preferred
- Experience maintaining single-engine piston aircraft preferred
- Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, maintenance documentation, and inspection standards
- Ability to work independently and make sound airworthiness decisions
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple aircraft and maintenance priorities simultaneously
- Aviation maintenance leadership or supervisory experience preferred
